Furthermore, the older houses are usually found on tree lined streets.  Having trees which are hundreds of years old in one’s property and neighborhood, adds tremendously to a warm homey feeling.  It doesn’t matter how considerable or expensive the landscaping is in the newer homes and subdivisions, if the old trees have been cut down, there is a pronounced lack of warmth within the neighborhood.

In summary, the older residences may be most fitting for people such as this author who’re incurably romantic, provided that they have it examined by an expert ahead of time to ward off future repair costs.  Those of a somewhat more practical nature might be happier in a newer residence.
